Wild Toro is back with an upgraded adventure packed with fresh mechanics, new characters, and the cinematic animation style that has become a signature element of Elk Studios’ popular slot franchise.
Wild Toro III officially launched on Monday, bringing the legendary bull back to the reels alongside his three energetic nephews. After previous adventures inspired by worlds ranging from Asgard to ancient Egypt, the latest chapter returns players to the original Spanish setting where the series first began.
This time, the matador arrives better prepared, summoning additional allies as Elk Studios introduces an expanded lineup of characters and gameplay systems to celebrate the franchise’s tenth anniversary.
One of the biggest highlights in Wild Toro III is the ability for players to select between two volatility settings. Users can choose a 6-10 medium mode for a steadier experience or switch to the more intense 8-10 high-volatility gameplay.
Walking wilds take center stage
The original Wild Toro release in 2016 introduced Toro as the slot’s only walking wild feature, while Wild Toro II later extended the mechanic to the matador. In Wild Toro III, Toro, the Los Teritos nephews, and the new matador characters all function as walking wilds, significantly increasing the game’s action and feature potential.
Although the expanded mechanics may feel more complex compared to the simplicity of the original title that won Game of the Year at the 2017 EGR Operators Awards, players seeking high-energy gameplay and massive rewards will likely appreciate the evolution. The slot offers a top payout potential of up to 25,000x.
The 5×4 slot includes an expanding reel setup and a large collection of gameplay mechanics, including standard wilds, walking wilds, multiplier wilds, bonus rounds, super bonuses, buy features, and betting options ranging from $0.20 up to $100 per spin.
WTIII features seven different wild symbols. Toro himself only appears on the far-right reel, charging across the grid while triggering respins and increasing multipliers with every movement.
The three Toritos wilds remain sticky and can activate respins alongside grid expansions. Each nephew also comes with a unique booster effect that activates when interacting with Toro.
Meanwhile, the matador and his two new companions — one fearful and one standard fighter — also appear as walking wilds across the middle reels. As they move leftward, they trigger additional respins. If multiple matadors appear while Toro is active, the Toro Goes Loco feature launches, removing the matadors from the reels and leaving behind trails of wild symbols.
Elk Studios has also introduced an X-iter buy feature system with five different options, including a powerful 250x bet super bonus available through the Day and Midnight Bullfight modes.
Game changers
Players can switch between Day and Night gameplay modes using a sun and moon toggle. Day mode delivers medium volatility, while Night mode increases the volatility level for riskier gameplay.
The Midnight Bullfight bonus feature is exclusive to Night mode and lasts for a single spin filled only with regular symbols and wilds. Landing five matching symbols can transform entire reels into wilds, while multipliers boost the excitement within a feature capable of reaching a massive 250,000x maximum payout.
The second bonus feature can be triggered directly from the base game whenever Toro collects a Golden Rose. This activates a respin mechanic that introduces special symbols offering instant rewards or enhancements to various boosters.
Walking wilds continue to serve as the core identity of Wild Toro III, while the combination of dual volatility settings, seven unique wild types, and paylines ranging from 178 to 421 helps create a more explosive and strategic experience. Overall, Elk Studios has successfully expanded the Wild Toro universe with a feature-rich sequel that preserves the charm of the original while delivering a more advanced gameplay experience.
